intelligent skin is a project own intelligence, as a communicational medium for urban spaces. On the façade it is possible to project images on its outer wall made up of an LED Screen, while maintaining largest possible transparency from inside out. Our emphasis lies on developing scenarios and contexts that exceed the current tendency to use mediafaçades merely for oneway advertisement. We are thinking of a façade which develops a proper individuality over time, due to an own sensory system, intelligence, memory and immune system – a house that organisms, an organism that persons, an organisming personing house that communicates. An oikoborg In-between dimensions to be integrated into, and inhabited as part of reality in a differential sense? What might it feel like if houses become communicative - oikoborgs? And what might media screen, large LED screens, social space in the city, oikoborgs look like? «Intelligent Skin» is a research project of the University of Art and Desgin Basle HGK, department IN3 for interior design, scenography and object design.
